We are currently installing the plumbing and heating for over 100 flats and townhouses at Calton Village in Glasgows East End.
We have worked in conjunction with one of our construction partners, James Frew on this project, which is for the Wheatley Group.
This is a communal gas project, with the heat being generated from a communal gas plant, which means that the development is far more efficiently run than had it been equipped with conventional gas boilers in each property.
Instead, each property has a flow and return hot water system, piped to a Heat Interface Unit (HIU), fed from the main plant, thus creating vest energy savings across the development, and meaning that the properties themselves don’t actually have gas going into them.
