M&F Group (Scotland) ltd are a family run business, based in Bishopbriggs in Glasgow. Started 8 years ago as M&F Electrical by Ian Medlock and his Dad, also called Ian, whom have 70 years of electrical experience between them!
Ian has extensive experience in the commercial, domestic, industrial, and most recently over the last 10 years renewable energy sectors. On top of gaining electrical engineering qualifications by studying whilst working, Ian has also worked abroad and has experience leading multi-national and multi-trade teams on large scale operations. As our in-house Electric Vehicle Charging expert, Ian has successfully designed and installed many EVC installations and has strong partnership agreements with key industry manufacturers.
The company has many long-standing clients, and we are delighted to be bringing on new clients every week at present. We service throughout Scotland, with West Central Scotland providing most of our enquiries. We work closely with all areas of the construction industry and have well established relationships with many local authorities, housing associations and private customers, as well as SME and large contractor organisations. Our services included all aspects of electrical work in the early years, but this has expanded now to be a fully multi-trade offering.
We were delighted to appoint Robbie MacBean as Managing Director in 2020. Robbie has a long career in the plumbing and gas industry and joined us from one of the major energy companies in Scotland. Through his vast knowledge and experience, we have managed to grow into this sector from primarily the electrical sector, and we are now well established and able to offer additional services, such as Air Source Heat Pumps, Solar Thermal and Biomass installations under Robbie’s guidance. On Robbie’s arrival the company rebranded to M&F Group (Scotland) Ltd.
In early 2023, we appointed David Walker as Head of Operations. David has over 33 years’ experience in the electrical industry and came to us from the College sector; where he spent the last 20 years teaching a variety of electrical subjects, with a focus on Electrical Wiring Regulations, Inspection & Testing, and Electrical Renewable Technologies. Since David’s appointment we have been able to expand into the Solar PV and Battery Storage sectors and are flourishing here under his guidance.
